The Greyson, a new family friendly sports bar/restaurant, is set to open very soon with limited hours*. Located in The Shoppes of Moccasin Wallow, The Greyson is next to Bay Care Medical Group, Belt Salon (Aveda), and Visage Dermatology.
This isn’t a just single restaurant opening, the founders are starting “The Greyson” brand. Two additional locations are coming to Sarasota. First at Palmer Ranch, opening Nov. 2023, then Fruitville Southwood Village, which is slated to open Sept. 2024.
With heaps of television screens, the restaurant is targeting sports minded customers.
Co-owned by Tom Halkidis and Russell Matthes, together they bring over 45-years of restaurant experience. Tom Halkidis has a real estate background and is a longtime sports bar franchisee. Russell Matthes has opened and managed a multi-unit chain of full-service restaurants and has sat on numerous boards in the Sarasota area. They hope to create a successful restaurant chain with the possibility of opening up the concept to franchising in the future.
Their full menu is available online and the ability to order online will go live soon.
The Greyson is the second alcohol serving establishment and second restaurant in the plaza. Corporate Ladder Brewing, which is about to celebrate their 5-year anniversary, was one of the first businesses to open there. The brewery doesn’t serve food, but frequently has food trucks on-site. You can also order from TK Grill & Barbecue, which is right next door, and they bring your food over. That might change this summer when Corporate Ladder adds an outdoor kitchen to the beer garden. They’re currently hiring for that kitchen position.
