7-Eleven and McDonald’s are currently under construction at US-41 and 69th St E, just south of I-275 in north Palmetto. The development of McDonald’s is part of a larger retail plaza, which is slated to include a Circle K gas station with a Dunkin Donuts drive thru. Future plans show a large multi-family housing development, hotel, mini-storage, and four more retail buildings.
7-Eleven Gas Station with Car Wash
This new 7-Eleven is on almost 3-acres and will have a 4900 sq. ft. convince store, 16 fueling stations and 2 diesel truck fueling stations. This project is very behind schedule, original planned to have been completed by April 2023.

McDonald’s Restaurant
The walls of a new 24-hour McDonald’s restaurant have just gone up on the southeast corner of US-41 and 69th Street East. This will be the 3rd McDonald’s in north Manatee County. According to the construction application, McDonald’s currently conducts about 70% of business through the drive thru. They provided stats for the two other north county locations…

- 69.5% Drive thru @ Ellenton McDonald’s
When you take into account the to-go food delivery services like Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc., then even fewer customers actual dine in the restaurant.
Completion is estimated in February 2024.
This is the 2nd fast food drive thru restaurant coming to the area. Earlier in the month we reported on the Taco Bell coming to I-75 & Moccasin Wallow Rd.

Circle K (Shell) Gas Station with Dunkin Donuts
Plans are in progress to develop this Circle K gas station and convenience store, with a Dunkin Donuts drive thru. This is located adjacent to the aforementioned McDonald’s.
