The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is continuing to improve traffic flow at the I-75 and US-301 interchange with the opening of two new ramps this week.
On December 18, 2024, FDOT opened a new northbound US 301 to southbound I-75 ramp, marking the first phase of upgrades to the interchange.

Now, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 6 a.m., a new on-ramp from US 301 southbound to I-75 southbound will open to drivers. Motorists traveling south on US 301 will make a left turn at the new signal beneath the I-75 overpass to access the ramp. With this change, the old southbound loop ramp to I-75 southbound will be permanently closed.

On Friday, February 21, 2025, also at 6 a.m., FDOT opens a new off-ramp from I-75 northbound to US 301. This new exit, located approximately one mile south of the previous exit, will allow northbound drivers to access US 301 via a new ramp over the Manatee River.
These improvements are expected to reduce congestion and enhance traffic flow at the busy interchange, benefiting commuters and local drivers.
