The Abrazo at Robison Gateway project plans to construct 257 cottage-style multifamily units across Carter Road from the Del Webb BayView community. The proposal involves a 33-acre section of the 153-acre Robinson Gateway property, which allows for a total of 2,000 residential units.
The Abrazo community will be situated behind the retail front on Moccasin Wallow Road, which is set to feature a plaza with Chase Bank, McDonald’s, a gas station, and additional retail buildings that we previously covered. BayCare Hospital Manatee will be located nearby to the west.
When the Robison Gateway development was originally approved, it was slated for a movie theater, hotel, lots of retail and office space, a 30-acre community park, 452 homes, and affordable housing. The development plan was modified to eliminate the 30-acre community park and affordable housing. Additionally, the retail and office square footages were greatly reduced.
This current Abrazo plan needs only administrative approval since the development was previously approved with a public hearing.
