Man Arrested for Elbowing Woman Off Motorcycle on I-75

Crime

Authorities say a 40-year-old Bradenton man was arrested after allegedly pushing a woman off the back of his motorcycle during a high-speed ride on Interstate 75 in north Manatee County.

Lester Estay is facing a charge of second-degree felony aggravated battery. According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on November 21, 2025, while Estay was driving southbound on I-75, just south of Hillsborough county line, with a 25-year-old woman riding on the back of the motorcycle.

Officials say Estay, who was traveling at speeds between 80 and 85 miles per hour, elbowed the victim in the ribs, causing her to fall off the bike. The victim lost consciousness and later woke up on the side of the highway. She was transported to Blake Medical Center, where she was interviewed by law enforcement.

In her statement, the victim repeatedly said that Estay’s elbow caused her to fall off the motorcycle. She also told authorities she was “100 percent sure” she had been pushed off the bike, adding that there had been no verbal argument prior to the incident.

Estay did not realize the victim had fallen off the bike immediately, authorities say. When he eventually became aware, he did not return to help her but continued home. He was arrested without incident and taken to the Manatee County Jail.

Estay was later released the following day after posting a $5,000 bond. He is being represented by a public defender. As with all criminal cases, Estay is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
