Moccasin Wallow Road Gets New Traffic Signals at I-75 Interchange

County Improvements Traffic

Drivers in Parrish will soon see changes at one of the area’s busiest intersections. New traffic signals are currently being installed at the Moccasin Wallow Road interchange with I-75.

The project is designed to ease congestion and improve safety, particularly during the weekday morning rush when westbound Moccasin Wallow Road drivers heading to southbound I-75 often face long backups. The new signals should also help reduce dangerous traffic patterns, including vehicles exiting I-75 and cutting in front of Moccasin Wallow Road traffic to merge.

We reached out to the County to see when these signals will go live, and they advised…

The new traffic signal at Moccasin Wallow Road and I-75 is moving along, and right now we expect it to be up and running before the Holidays. We’re hopeful it could be ready a little sooner if materials arrive quickly and the contractor doesn’t run into issues like bad weather or utility conflicts. While we can’t promise an earlier date, things are on track and we’re doing everything we can to bring the signal online as soon as possible.

This is just the latest step in improving traffic flow along Moccasin Wallow Road. The signal at Moccasin Wallow Road and Sawgrass Road was recently activated, giving drivers another safer, more organized intersection.

Additional improvements are on the way. New signals are also planned at Moccasin Wallow Road and 71st Avenue East, as well as at Moccasin Wallow Road and Carter Road. These upgrades are part of Manatee County’s efforts to keep pace with growth in the Parrish area and improve safety for both commuters and local residents.
